RE: Comment from BNS
and here's his write-up from their game last night vs Dirt
Dawgs i mean, isn't there something a little profane in
comparing one's team/play/game to dimagio and ripken?:
BNS Wins 6th Straight with Record Setting Performance!
On Wednesday Brooklyn Net Sellers (BNS) took the field
against the struggling Dirt Dawgs, with a chance to clinch
a playoff birth and keep their hopes of finishing the
regular season in second place in the eastern division
alive. Not only did they win the game, but did it in
record setting fashion winning 48 - 0. In doing so BNS
formerly Smith's Tavern set records for runs scored in a
game, margin of victory and hits in a game (47). And like
Joe DiMagio's 56 game hitting streak and Cal Ripken Jr's
2632 consecutive games streak, these records may never be
broken. Here's a look at the line-up that had two
different players hit for the cycle on this record setting
day.
Not to be lost in the onslaught of offense was BNS'
spectacular pitching and defense that allowed just two
base runners via a bloop double in the first inning and a
leadoff walk in the third. To be commended was the
attitude and spirit of the Dirt Dawgs. They never gave up
and never were sore. They played with enthusiasm and high
spirits through out. Something many other teams probably
would not have done given the situation. JP
NOTE: BNS used their first female exemption during the
game and played with 2 women.
